The Boston Fit Girls Project
"In every community there is work to be done...
In every heart there is the power to do it. "

In order to bring Fit Girls to girls in underserved communities in the Boston area, Fit Girls is currently working with the DMSE Children's Fitness Fouundation to provide financial support for participation in Fit Girls. Our partnership reflects a strong commitment and belief that EVERY child deserves a chance at a healthy future.
To be eligible for participation in the Boston Fit Girls Project, schools and community centers must:
All schools/community centers invited to be a part of the Boston Fit Girls Project will recieve:
The Boston Fit Girls Project also connects young girls with local marathon runners and high school athletes who serve as volunteer "race buddies". These volunteers and role models run/walk and talk with the girls at the final 5k race event.
At this point in time we are somewhat limited in the number of schools and locations we can offer financial support, yet we are hopeful that we will grow the Boston Fit Girls Project with the support of local business and corporate support. Please contact us if you or your company would like to support a team of girls.
If you are a school/organization in the Boston area who would like to be a part of the Boston Fit Girls Project, please contact Sarah@fitgirls.org for more information about the application process and dates for our grant cycle.
We are currently coordinating Fit Girls at these sites:
Condon School in South Boston
Haley School in Roslindale
O'Hearn School in Dorchester
Chelsea Boys and Girls Club
South Boston Boys and Girls Club

The Condon School Fit Girls were thrilled to meet Shonda Schilling as she provided them all with new Reebok running shoes
Another thrill was the opportunity to try on the World Series ring. Wow!
