Sarah Nixon, Fit Girls Creator and Director, has competed in a variety of races ranging from the 5k distance to the marathon. She has raised thousands of dollars for cancer research as part of the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge Team. Sarah currently works part-time as a children's bookseller at the Elephant's Trunk Bookshop, a wonderful independent children's bookshop in Lexington, MA.
Running Accomplishments include:
- Overall Female Winner of the 2001 and 2002 B.A.A. Half-Marathon
- Top American Female Finisher, Paris Marathon 2001
- Overall Female Winner of the 2002 Cape Cod Marathon
- 2nd Female Master, Palm Beach Marathon 2005
- 12th Female Master, Boston Marathon 2006

Sarah has a Masters degree in Early Elementary Education from Smith College and has worked as both a children's bookseller and librarian. She lives in Medfield MA with her husband and three children and continues to coach a team of FABULOUS Fit Girls every fall and spring at the Dale Street School.
One of her favorite first books was One Morning in Maine by Robert McCloskey. She now adores the classic works of Jane Austen and the Bronte gals.
